From the Vicious Cycle of Self-Hate to an Empowering Cycle of Self-Love

A few moments ago, I realized 10 days went by since my last blog post. All of a sudden I felt angry about myself. Hurtful words (that I wouldn't dare say here) went flying back and forth and crashing on the walls of my head. (Has anyone said that before? If not then I claim the copyright for that allusion, hehe).

Truth is, we do this to ourselves ... all the time. For instance we say a wrong word to a person who's important to us. We'd then beat ourselves repeatedly with accusatory questions ... "How could you? Haven't I told you? How many times do I have to remind you?"

Breaking the Momentum of Silence

In my previous post I "proclaimed" to everyone that I'm going to resume blogging. A little more than a month later, I still have to deliver on that promise. Well, this post is supposed to break the momentum of silence.

A Daddy must learn to Stop, Look and Listen ... at the Dining Table.

You see, I have some topics laid out. I have them on a spreadsheet. Then I added columns into this spreadsheet that identify all the other details I want for each topic - key points, keywords, bla bla bla. Then I got stuck.

That's what happens when you plan too much. I've been told, and my personal experience affirms so, that, to start something, just start. Of course, you need to plan. But experts usually say, a napkin planning often is enough.

Watch out for my return to blogging! :)

Watch out as I share with you my thoughts about working at home, homeschooling, being a 24/7 home-based family, fatherhood, simplifying life, etc.

I've received a lot of questions over the years. Some have actually paid me to help them. I figure that, if I should help more people, I might as well write everything down. Coaching people has one "psychic" income that I'm getting the most kick from - people who actually do something with their lives.

For starters, here's my initial thought: At worst, some think of working at home as some kind of a dead end non-career thing. At the other end of the spectrum, some thing of working at home as a life in paradise. Both notions are false, dangerously false.

The first perception leaves you out of the many opportunities available in the digital world. That is where we live today, by the way, just in case you didn't notice.

The second perception is escapism. It would burn you out in three days. Before you know it, you'd get pulled back to the very thing you hate right now -- your desk and the blasted traffic outside.

Instagram Rocks, Doesn't it?

Instagram was a friend of sorts to me last weekend. Spending most time on bed due to illness (ok, asthma with runny nose and lots of yakky phlegm plus some headache and fever), a geek still couldn't live without some tech thing. Thanks to Android, I played around with Instagram. Then, lo and behold, the richpinoyonline Instagram account was born.

The richpinoyonline Instagram account

Instagram rocks, doesn't it? I mean, it's like Twitter, only visual. Another thing I like about it is that it doesn't filter any post (unlike Facebook, though I can't blame Mark Zuckerberg). I like it most for its being a mobile social platform. It keeps you connected even while in bed and too tired to think.

Dress Up and Go!

I woke up this past weekend and something hit me. I was alive! I felt it! It's almost like some kind of a magical experience wherein, seemingly from out of nowhere, you just feel joyful and light! Did something like that happen to you?

The truth is, no one is exempt from "clouds" of life. You just have to trust that the sun is out there, even in the middle of a raging storm. Oh yeah, you may have to deal with the flood and the leaking roof, borrow some money and promise to pay it off. You may have to walk a step at a time, figuratively or literally. But you know that the sun's gonna come out soon.

Truly Rich Club Wealth Summit 2013

I had the privilege of being on stage with Jomar Hilario and 3 other online income earners during the Wealth Summit 2013 at the Philippine International Convention Center. Around 300 people were there.

On stage with (L-R), Jomar Hilario, Jan McKingleyHilado, Paolo Josef Abadesco and Sha Nacino (photo from the Timeline of Sha Nacino)

During the Wealth Summit, I was interviewed by Jomar about my journey towards my present online work. He asked what I did before working online, the transition and how I spend a typical day these days. The time on stage however was limited.

Allow me to talk about my story in greater detail here.
